There was only one man named Jacob Kras, who was from Amsterdam. He enlisted with the VOC at Chamber Amsterdam. He was an assistant carpenter. He sailed away on the VOC ship Mijnden, to the Cape of Good Hope on 18 October 1724. He died at the Cape on 26 May 1725 according to an entry in the Mijnden ledger. However, his VOC service ended on 31 May 1725.
